Security Model Used

Firewalls are used in a multi-machine systems environment to protect databases and application servers and web servers from unauthorized outside access. A demilitarized zone (DMZ) configuration involves multiple firewalls that sit between the internet and IT4profit’s data.

A DMZ separates an external network from direct referencing an internal network. It does this by isolating the server that is being directly accessed from internet clients. In DMZ terminology, an internal connection is generally considered of having more confidential and valuable information than an external network.

We are using system with separated applications. This acts as system of checks and balances to make sure that if any one area goes wrong that it cannot corrupt the whole. It is important to separate information so an attacker can’t get to all the system. It would be dangerous enough for the attacker to penetrate to the application server but if that attacker can penetrate through the web server to your database then this can lead to many difficulties.

DMZ is preventing this type of problems and greatly increases the security of the network..
